All part of the service – Steve wins new car in Moto competition
01 December 2005
Steve, of Hayclose Road, Kendal, Cumbria, turned out to be top dog among the 7,000 drivers who entered a 10-month-long competition run by Moto, in which coach drivers were asked to nominate a member of the Moto team who had given a boost to their visit.
Each month for nine months the winning entrant received £1,000 cash and the person nominated received £100. But for the final month, Moto bosses decided to up the ante and give away a brand new Fiat Punto instead of the cash.
Brian Lotts, Moto’s managing director, said: “Our people work very hard, often unnoticed, to make sure our customers are looked after properly and this competition was a fantastic way of rewarding those who have really made a difference to somebody’s visit.
“We were delighted by the response we had and it’s encouraging to know that people really appreciate the effort our staff put in day after day.”
Steve nominated Marilyn Hamnett, who works in the Fresh Express restaurant at Moto’s Birch services on the M62 near Manchester. He described her as “Pleasant, cheerful and courteous.”
Steve was presented with the keys to his new Fiat Punto by Brian Lotts and Moto’s marketing director, Chris Rogers at the company’s Burton-in-Kendal service area on the M6.
