Moto offers dream holiday prizes to boost coach trade
20 April 2006
Moto has teamed up with leading holiday company Thomsons and is offering six holidays for two to dream destinations around the world.
Drivers simply need to make sure they request a stock of special vouchers that give their passengers big discounts at any Moto service area. For every voucher that a passenger fills in and uses, the driver gets an entry into a free draw for a chance to win one of the free holidays.
Chris Rogers, Moto’s marketing director, said: “This new competition is the latest in a series of promotions aimed at a significant market sector, coach tour operators, their drivers and clients. We want Moto to be the stop of choice for coaches on the motorway.”
The holiday competition follows on the highly successful “Grab a Grand” promotion, held last year, which was entered by more than 6,000 coach drivers and ended with Steve Hird, of Kendal, Cumbria, winning a brand new Fiat Punto after Moto bosses decided to up the ante for the last month of the competition.
During the previous eight months, drivers had been asked to nominate a member of Moto’s staff who had given a boost to their visit. Each month, the winning entrant received a cash prize of £1,000 and the person nominated got £100. But, for the final month, Moto decided to give away a car instead of the cash.
The competitions are just a part of the concerted efforts Moto is making to boost its coach trade. Other offers to drivers include the opportunity to eat for 1p on production of a Moto key ring and a £2 to spend in the retail shop every time they take passengers on site.
